NCLT Accomplishments

NCLT’s accomplishments include the following projects:

•  Expansion of 7,000 square feet of CLT commercial space, currently rented to nonprofits and small businesses at below-market rents and headquarters of Northern California Land Trust. Expansion plans include 13 units ownership housing and additional 3500 square feet commercial space added to existing site (in pre-development). 

•  Completion of Oakland Noodle Factory CLT Homes, West Oakland, 10 units of live/work for working visual and performing artists, includes 5,050 square feet of performance and multi-use arts spaces.

•  Completion of Linden Street CLT Homes, West Oakland, four CLT condominium units and a community garden administered by OBUGS (Oakland Based Urban Gardens).

•  Development of Mariposa Grove CLT Homes, North Oakland, seven units, with an extra unit for community space, (in development).

•  New Life Farm, San Joaquin County, 40 acres of farmland with two residences, sold to residents.

•  Development of 11th and Mandela Homes, West Oakland, 6 single family homes and one commercial office building for non-profits (pre-development phase).

•  Rehabilitation and resale of two single-family homes in the Community Land Trust model, Berkeley.

•  SHARP Housing Program, Oakland, five units, sold to owners.

•  Completion of 1314 – 1320 Haskell Street CLT Homes, Berkeley, eight CLT condominium units, four of which are wheelchair-accessible units.

•  Completion of East-West Housing Cooperative, San Francisco, thirteen units.

•  Completion of Addison Court Limited-Equity Housing Cooperative, Berkeley, a 10-unit CLT ownership cooperative.

•  Completion of Fairview House Limited-Equity Housing Cooperative, Berkeley, a nine-unit CLT ownership cooperative.

•  Completion of Casa Buenos Amigos Housing Cooperative, Berkeley, four units of CLT rental housing.

•  Completion of Unity Gardens Housing Cooperative, Berkeley, six units of CLT rental housing.

•  Completion of The Blake Street Complex, Berkeley, five units of CLT rental housing.

•  Completion of Haste Street House, Berkeley, seven units of CLT homeless transitional housing.

•  Completion of Peace Gardens Cooperative, Oakland, seven units of CLT rental housing (in transition to resident ownership).

•  Completion of Northern California Land Trust Commercial, Berkeley, 7,000 square feet of CLT commercial space, rented to nonprofits and small businesses at below-market rents.

•  Project consulting: The NCLT has provided technical assistance for numerous ownership projects and CLT development to private groups and cities including the City of Alameda, city of East Palo Alto, city of Oakland; emerging CLT’s in San Francisco, East Palo Alto, Santa Cruz, Oakland and other areas in Northern California.
